Going to Sleep Books

Goodnight Moon – by Margaret Wise Brown
I’ve read this book at least a thousand times. It is still captivating and comforting and lulls a little one right to sleep. There is simply something magic about her words - even I am sleepy by the end of this!
And don’t forget to find the mouse in every picture!

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
The Lovely intention of this book is crystal clear: I love you so much I can’t even quantify it! What could be better than that? The illustrations are drawn so well it is if you could pat the soft curly hair of the rabbits. By the end of the book, Little Nutbrown Hare is asleep, and his papa is kissing him goodnight and telling him how much he loves him - one more time.
My daughter still says to me that she loves me to the moon and back.

The Going To Bed Book by Sandra Boynton
Just like all Sandra Boynton books and songs, this has a great rythmic quality while outlining all of the things we do before we go to bed. I can almost SING all of her books - even the ones she hasn't put musicto!

Going To Sleep On the Farm by Wendy Cheyette Lewison
This is such a lovely book! The illustrations are just amazing - the way the light changes as the sun sets, the way the farm animals prepare for the night - gorgeous. The story begins as a father and son are putting away little farm animal toys and the little guy is asking his papa how they go to sleep. Nice calming answers and tone, perfect to fall asleep by.
